Crimson Fists Devastator Reinforcements

Following my work on some classic models and retro 1980s painting over the last few posts I have returned to something a bit more contemporary this week...
A couple of years back I did a few five man devastator squads for my Crimson Fists Army. My intention was always to eventually increase these to full size units however with the appearance of the new Primaris Marines in mid-2017 this never happened...

...however the time has now come for me to finally commit myself to finishing these squads; and so I blew a layer of dust off the models, cracked open my pots of blue paint and set about painting them up.

It’s been quite a while since I painted some ‘original’ non-Primaris brethren for my huge force of the sons of Rogal Dorn and I actually found that I really enjoyed working on them.

Currently I only ever paint a few miniatures at a time as otherwise I get bored really easily and drift off to other projects. This system serves me well these days and helps keep my limited attention span fully focussed.

Overall I’m very happy with these fellas and I’ll be banging out a few more as soon as I can!! However I just want to take the opportunity to say to you all... ‘Don’t forget your older marines!!! They loved you long before the Primaris Marines turned up!!!’

  1. Great work, they look very sharp, excellent stuff.

I also try to stick with a few figures here and there to help maintain focus...it has come closer than anything else to working, although the big pile of unpainted lead and plastic in my basement would indicate I still have a ways to go...

    1. Cheers Greg!! Yeah I know that feeling! But think every individual model completed is a little closer to eventually overcoming that huge pile!!

  2. I find it amazing how you manage to keep them coming at this rate and how they look so great.
