After having recently spent a fair bit of time expanding my force of Battle Sisters I fancied a bit of a break from power armour this week.
So I had a quick scrabble around my bits box and found some classic old Kasrkin models that have been sitting in there for the last fifteen years.
These are probably some of my favourite ‘normal’ human troops for 40k and I definitely prefer them over the new ‘Tempestus Scions’ that replaced them as the Storm Trooper option for Imperial Guard armies a few years back.
I painted them Black and Red as I will probably be using them as Inquisitorial Storm Troopers in the future.
I’ll also use them to help reinforce my Battle Sisters in the eventual refight of the ‘Massacre at Sanctuary 101’ that I’m planning to conduct soon.
I do love the Kasrkin miniatures, I too think they were much superior to the Scions as Storm Troopers.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love your paint job, really does give them a Spec-Ops vibe.
I've probably got enough of them to build platoon just sat in storage. Just one of those projects that kept getting put on a back burner indefinitely.
I considered digging them out when the Tempestus codex came out, but not really been playing 40k so there's really been no impetus to work on them.
I completely agree. They just look more realistic than the scions! You should definitely paint them up!
DeleteI totally agree, these are some of the best models ever, I do prefer them over Scions. I love what you did here :)
ReplyDeleteCheers mate. These are some of the best non-Marine models GW have ever released in my opinion.
