Looking through the contents of the box I was immediately drawn to the huge Captain clad in advanced Gravis armour; so I snipped him off the sprue and set to work.
I was going to do a normal metal blade; but I really fancied something different for his power sword so I tried this green technique which I’m very happy with!
Game-wise he is a beast; and is exceptionally hard to kill thanks to having loads of wounds (Primaris); increased toughness (Gravis Armour) and an invulnerable save (Iron Halo). Additionally he allows all marines around him to re-roll ‘to hit’ scores of 1!

Overall this is a cool model... I suppose next I’ll have to give him a lieutenant to boss around!
The mini is great, but the paintjob makes it stand out in a fantastic way! Bravo!
ReplyDeleteThanks mate! I’m really proud of how this one turned out!
DeleteAwesome work! I love the sword effect!
ReplyDeleteCheers mate! I really enjoyed doing the sword... but it took ages!!
DeleteThat sword! Also, the gold eagles remind me of the second edition era Eavy Metal paint jobs!
ReplyDeleteCheers dude!! Yeah they do don’t they! I couldn’t quite place my finger on what they reminded me of but that is definitely it!
DeleteSuper-clean - just how I like my marines...wait - that sounds wrong. A lovely clean paint job!
